Title: An essay on the apparent causes of the present enormous prices of the two principal necessaries of life, corn and meat; with a plan for remedy, or immediate alleviation thereof: together with Observations and occasional Strictures on the practice of the Times; Humbly submitted to the serious Perusal and Consideration of a Candid Public, and especially the Inhabitants of Newcastle and its Vicinity. Being a Work calculated to correct, 'tis presum'd, (if adopted) effectually, the Abuses and Mal-Practices, which have but too long obtained in the Corn-Trade, with the Butchers, and in letting of Farms, &c. &c.
